Renaissance Healing Center Instructors go to Yoga Journal Confrence

That's right!!!
It's that time agin, my yearly confrence..you know where I go for a weekend and come back with juicy information from the celebrity yoga peeps!
I love going to confences, it just proves how huge yoga is around our counrty. My hope is that one day every house hold will have at least one yogi in it. Yoga can change the world one pose and one meditation at a time.
Dena of our Pure Boutique will be joining me this year. She has been taking many classes with the famous Shiva Rea ( one of my very fav's)
We will see Shiva Rea along with one of my other favorites - Seane Corn and Patricia Walden.
So- Laura will teach on Saturday, classes will be as scheduled we don't leave until Friday afternoon Nov. 14th.
Can't wait to share the new stuff with you all.
If you are interested in going to the confrence here is a link to the
Yoga Confrence Website.

Heather's Kripalu Yoga Class Descriptions

I teach Kripalu Yoga: A free flowing form of yoga postures that is as much of a meditation as it is a series of yoga movements and asanas. This style of yoga supports relaxation, peace, and healing. Each of my yoga classes last approximately 70 minutes.

Tuesday & Wednesdays at 10:00 AM – Kripalu Yoga
This is my most common class which is also scheduled on Wednesday & Saturday Mornings at 10AM. This class can be gentle enough for beginners, and at times challenging enough for someone who enjoys a gentle yoga practice. I gauge all classes according to who shows. I learned years ago the importance of being mindful of new yoga students. There are always the modifications of the postures for those who need it. My wish is for each student to listen closely to their body and never go past the “edge”.

Thursday 6 PM – Introduction to Kripalu Yoga

This is a great class for brand new students OR for those returning to yoga after an extended period of time OR for students who a recovering from an injury or illness that would like to find modifications for the basic yoga postures. This is usually an 8 week series that is on going. We take time to practice Sun-Salutations and basic postures in between each series. Students can join in at any time .

Friday 10 AM – YogAromatherapy
This I am proud to say in my own creation. I recently took a certification for Aromatherapy. I offer Aromatherapy Consultations along with Aromatherapy Massage…as you can tell I love the scents of essential oils and the benefits they offer us for healing. The class is one of my most gentle Yoga classes with a focus on the 7 chakras, which are energy centers located along the spine in our body. This class has a great energy, very calm, meditative and fun too!

Saturdays at 10:00 am
I teach a Multi Level Kripalu Yoga Class every other week, on the off weeks there is either Marci or Laura. Both teachers are great!
Feel free to visit my website or call with questions or concerns.
Class Fee is $10 each or 10 classes for $80 Heather Hixon, LMT, CYT (904) 521-4845 Located at the Renaissance Healing Center, 228 3rd Ave. N., Jacksonville Beach

Yoga Mala Event at our Renaissance Healing Center

Thank you to those who participated in our event! We got through 108 Sun- Salutations with grace and fun too! It felt really good to raise money for such an amazing organization such as The Nature Conservancy. To find out about how you can help support this cause please go to www.nature.org
Yoga has really made such a difference in my life and I have watched over the years, the changes happen for my students as well. Someone last night said that her heart felt so open after our practice, our closing meditation was about the light surrounding the heart and radiating out...this is what yoga does for me every day. I only wish for more people to find the path to yoga or something like it...just find a path to open your heart.
Until next time,
Take time to unwind,
Namaste'
